Job Description

About the Role at RobCo

RobCo is building the category of Autonomous Industrial Robotics and we're doing it fast. We believe that automating the ordinary frees humans to do the extraordinary, and we're building the end-to-end robotics infrastructure to make that possible - hardware, software, and AI in one stack that just works.

At RobCo, we automate the ordinary, so humans can do the extraordinary. To achieve this, we are looking for an ambitious Service & Support Engineer to help us establish RobCo as leading provider of automation solutions.

In this key role, you act as our foundational technical expert and primary sparring partner on the ground in the US. Operating as our first dedicated service resource in the region, you will drive, structure, and execute end-to-end support operations largely independently while serving in a hands-on Solutions Engineering capacity during your initial ramp-up. You are a universal, fast-learning, and pragmatic engineer who thrives on digging into physical hardware, software, and real-world industrial deployments to establish RobCo’s footprint in North America.

Your Responsibilities

- Lead and execute end-to-end Service & Support operations across the US as the foundational technical expert on the ground.

- Serve in a hands-on Solutions Engineering capacity during your initial 3-month ramp-up to deeply master our proprietary stack, including Robflow, Robvision, PLCs, electrics, and safety systems.

- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex hardware and software issues directly on physical robotic machinery to analyze failure patterns and mechanical wear.

- Read, analyze, and debug Python code and interface with common machine communication protocols (e.g., IO, Modbus TCP, Profinet, Profibus, IO-Link).

- Independently prioritize, structure, and drive acute support topics and field escalations in a fast-paced scale-up environment.

- Collaborate seamlessly with European engineering and solutions teams by cleanly documenting system bugs, edge cases, and hardware requirements for efficient task handoffs.

- Build strong, empathetic relationships with US customers, ensuring technical issues are clearly explained and clients feel completely supported and valued.

- Drive continuous product and service improvements by bringing field insights back to the core engineering teams.

We're looking for someone who has:

- Completed vocational training or a degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, Robotics, or comparable practical experience.

- Several years of experience in field service engineering, technical support, or solutions engineering within robotics or industrial automation.

- Solid technical foundation including basic object-oriented programming, ability to read/work with Python code, and strong knowledge of electrics and safety standards.

- Familiarity with machine communication protocols (IO, Modbus TCP, Profinet, Profibus, IO-Link) and prior exposure to PLCs.

- A universal, fast-learning, and hands-on mindset—someone who thrives when getting directly onto the shop floor to fix and optimize systems rather than managing a traditional ticket queue.

- Culture-aligned mindset with strong ownership, high self-organization, and a pragmatic, structured working style suited for being the first person in the role.

- Very good English skills (German is a plus) with outstanding interpersonal communication skills to bridge internal development teams and client operations.

Why join RobCo?

- Develop modular, software-defined robotics solutions with us that set new standards in automation.

- Help us build robots equipped with state-of-the-art AI that perceive their environment, analyze data, and make intelligent decisions in real time.

- As part of a very dynamic and fast-growing scale-up, you will take on responsibility from day one, drive your own projects, and see the direct impact of your work.

- Flat hierarchies, open communication, and regular 360° feedback enable fast decisions and support your professional and personal development.

- Competitive compensation and benefits package - including medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus a 401(k) plan.

- Unlimited paid time off incl. major holidays.

- Company-sponsored onboarding and team offsites in Germany.

About RobCo
